WHAT IS REIKI

Reiki (pronunced ray key) is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing, it is a simple yet powerful healing modality which is based on the idea like all other energy treatments that their is a life force energy that flows through us and when this life force is low we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, when it is high we are more capable of being healthy and happy.

The word REIKI comes from (REI) which means “UNIVERSAL LIFE” and (KI) which means “ENERGY”

WHAT HAPPENS IN A REIKI SESSION ?

A reiki session would normally last an hour. The client would be asked to discuss any particular problems they are experiencing and what they hope to achieve from the session. The client will then be asked to remove their shoes and lay comfortably on a massage table facing upwards. The practitioner will then place their hands lightly close to or on the body, working from the head area down the body to the feet using a serious of hand positions, working on specific points on the clients body. This takes place in a relaxing environment with soft music playing. A sensation of warmth, cold or tingling may be experienced and a general feeling of well-being. Reiki is a healing experience that is unique for each client as the energy has its own intelligence and knows where to go and what is needed to benefit each client. It activates the body’s own healing abilities on the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels of the body.
